On a Lonely Road Along the Gila River

Well, I walked 5.2 miles today, which puts me just about here on the mapped route, just South of the Gila River, and North of the 8 Freeway and the Kofa National Wildlife Refuge.  Kofa National Wildlife Refuge was established in 1939 for the protection of desert bighorn sheep and other native wildlife following a 1936 campaign by the Arizona Boy Scouts. 547,700, of its total 665,400 acres, are designated wilderness, making it the second largest wilderness area in Arizona.  You can see jack rabbits, rattle snakes, and the Sonoran prong-horn sheep, the fastest animal in North America.

You may also see bees, birds, bats, butterflies, beetles, flies, wasps, and other insects who do important work as pollinators.

Here's a Google Maps ground view of the road where I am today.  CLICK HERE

Just as Arizona has abundant natural resources, Arizona, fortunately also has resources for transgender people due to the hard work and vision of many trans folk and allies in Arizona.  Here are some links to Arizona  resources for transgender people:
