Almost in Agua Caliente

I walked 6.22 miles today this 4th of July.  Not bad!

We enjoyed seeing the US Independence Day celebration decorations and the weather was splendid in San Diego.  I hope you all had a happy and safe 4th of July!

And....just for you, Katie...a reminder that although we move like turtles on this journey, we will still get the job done, just like this African tortoise, who lives in our neighborhood, and who keeps his owner's grass "mowed" quite close.

We were thinking that golf courses should "hire" a whole bunch of them to keep the greens "mowed" close.  They're even protected if they were hit by a ball!

********************************

In Arizona, that puts us almost at Agua Caliente, a ghost town of a resort, once frequented by native Americans for its health benefits, then by white settlers in the 1800s.  But, the hot springs ran dry due to farmers over-utilizing the local water table for irrigation, and the resort was abandoned.  A few buildings still exist, but they are not used.

Here's where we are on the map.
